A LITTLE ABOUT ME

Having a passion and talent for woodwork at school, I became an apprentice in furniture restoration in Long Melford, Suffolk in 1982, which led to working for a restoration company in Lavenham, Suffolk.

At the age of 25, I, John Richard Whitfield Palmer, decided to go self-employed under the name of Whitfield Restorations and continued my work in the Colchester, Essex area, becoming a specialist in antique furniture restoration, french polishing and bespoke cabinet making.

Since then, I have continued to work as a sole trader to ensure everything I do meets my required standards of attention to detail. Most of my work is carried out in my workshop in Peldon, Colchester; however, I also work on-site when required.
